The County has a centralized procurement process under the Office of the Purchasing Agent and purchases a vast array of goods and services to support all County agencies and offices. Our goal is to procure goods and services needed to fulfill the mission of “Quality Service and Responsible Spending,” in the most effective manner and at the time and place necessary to meet the needs of the county.
We utilize a competitive bidding process, with awards made to the lowest responsible bidder, whenever possible. This process is done through either an Invitation to Bid (ITB), or Request for Quotations (RFQ). We also utilize competitive negotiation methods when factors other than price must be considered in selecting a vendor. This is commonly referred to as a Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
