The Housing Development Section
The Housing Development Section (HDS) assists developers, owners and community organizations in the planning, development, construction and rehabilitation of housing affordable to low and moderate income households.
A major focus is the preservation and expansion of the supply of ownership and rental housing affordable to low- and moderate-income households.
Financial Tools: The County offers a range of tools to help finance the development of affordable housing.
Land Use and Zoning Tools: The HDS staff works with developers to facilitate production of affordable housing through the use of the County's land use and zoning tools.
Program Compliance: HDS staff ensures the retention of affordable housing for income-qualified households by monitoring and providing technical assistance to property owners.
Homebuyers & Renters: The County offers programs to households looking for homeownership and rental opportunities
