Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program

 

WIC provides services for women, infants & children up to five years old who are at nutritional risk and have low income. Services include:

  • Supplemental food
  • Nutrition counseling and education
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Immunization screening
  • Referrals to health and social services
  • Electric breast pumps available on loan to WIC breastfeeding women

Eligibility 

  • Resident of Virginia
  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding within one year of delivery, or non-breastfeeding within 6 months of delivery
  • Infants and children up to five years

NOTES: 

  • A person receiving standard Medicaid, FAMIS MOMS, Food Stamps, free or reduced school lunch or TANF automatically meets the income eligibility requirement and should bring the enrollment card
  • A person receiving FAMIS must bring proof of income
