REPORTS

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-03080214, 1200 block of S. Clark Street. At approximately 5:54 p.m. on March 8, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that security was requested to assist with removing a subject from a business. The security guard located and made contact with the suspect who brandished a knife and attempted to strike the security guard. During the assault, the security guard fell to the ground and the suspect struck him in the head with his hand before fleeing the scene on foot. The employee sustained a minor laceration on his hand during the incident and declined medical treatment. The suspect is described as a tall Black male with a skinny build, wearing all black and carrying a backpack. The investigation is ongoing.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO/VEHICLE TAMPERING (Significant) (Late), 2022-03100032, 800 block of Patrick Henry Drive. At approximately 4:10 a.m. on March 10, police were dispatched to the late report of a grand larceny auto. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 12:40 a.m., a witness observed three unknown suspects rummaging through a vehicle. The witness yelled and the suspects fled the scene on foot. The suspects then entered into the victim’s car, located the keys inside and drove away from the area. The vehicle is described as gray in color, 2015 Honda CRV bearing VA license plate VKX2844. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered an additional vehicle that had been rummaged through. There are no suspect descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.
