ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2022-05170189, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street, At approximately 4:44 p.m. on May 17, police were dispatched to a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect was allegedly observed concealing merchandise from a business and apprehended by loss prevention when he exited without paying. The suspect was non-compliant with responding officers, remained disorderly throughout the investigation and kicked an officer as they searched his person incident to arrest. Antonio Darnell Thompson, 27, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault on Police and Petit Larceny. He was held without bond.
