REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-05240161, 2000 block of Key Boulevard. At approximately 5:17 p.m. on May 24, police were dispatched to a report of a malicious wounding. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the suspect who attempted to engage him in conversation. The victim continued to walk and the suspect chased after and allegedly assaulted him. The victim was treated on scene by medics. Arriving officers canvassed the area, located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. Alexander Chew, 27, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond.
GRAND LARCENY (Significant), 2022-05240083, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 11:15 a.m. on May 24, police were dispatched to a report of burglary that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers determined an unknown male subject walked into the business, smashed the display cases with a hammer and stole jewelry. Responding officers canvassed the area with negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black hooded jacket, black face covering, black baseball cap, khaki pants and blank and white shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
