Arlington Recognizes Fastest-Growing Companies

• Annual "Fast Four" competition honors companies in four revenue categories


• Four winners honored at Arlington Premiere reception

Arlington Economic Development on Wednesday recognized the County's fastest-growing companies in its second annual "Fast Four" competition.

The competition recognizes companies with the fastest level of growth year-over-year in four revenue categories. Four winners were announced at the Arlington Premiere business networking reception  in Crystal City.

• Clarendon retail startup Nicecream Factory earned the Fast Four award in the under $500,000 category. Nicecream uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients and freezes each order of ice cream in front of guests using liquid nitrogen, in which the freezing process makes smaller ice crystals, leaving a final product that is denser and creamier than traditionally crafted ice cream.


• Ballston-based Deep Learning Analytics was named the fastest growing company in the $500,000-$1.5 million category. Deep Learning Analytics offers expertise in cutting edge data science, research, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive analytics and software engineering to deploy deep learning algorithms on small and power efficient appliances and mobile devices. The company was also honored in 2015 as an Arlington Fast Four winner.


• Information management consulting company Enterprise Knowledge earned the Fast Four prize in the $1.5 million-$5 million category. The Clarendon company boasts clients around the globe across a broad range of organizations, providing consultation that helps those organizations capture, manage, and present information most effectively.


• In the $5 million and above category, the Fast Four prize goes to software company Convoke. The Ballston company offers software that enables web-based data and document sharing among organizations contending with sensitive, high-volume content.

"All of our winners represent Arlington's culture of innovation. They saw a need, created a product, and are finding success here in Arlington," said Victor Hoskins, director of Arlington Economic Development. "I congratulate all of our winners and wish them continued success with their business growth."

Companies were evaluated in the four revenue categories after an online application, and were required to provide income statements to show proof of growth and revenue. To be eligible, companies had to be privately held and based in Arlington, showing year over year revenue growth over a three-year period.
