County Board to Vote on Proposed Incentive Agreement for Amazon

Published on March 05, 2019

This past fall, Amazon announced its plans to establish a new headquarters in Arlington County.

At its March 16 regular meeting, the Arlington County Board will hold a public hearing and vote on the proposed incentive agreement with Amazon. The annual grant is a pay-for-performance incentive. Amazon will have to meet regular performance targets based on filling office space and report those targets before any incentive funding is released. View the proposed agreement (Scroll to Item 29).

The public can comment on the proposed agreement in several ways:

  • Email comments to the County Board at countyboard@arlingtonva.us

  • Comment in person at the March 16 meeting. Speakers are encouraged to sign up in advance on the County website, available now through 4 p.m. Thursday, March 15. Speakers may also sign up in person, beginning at 8 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Speakers will be heard in the order in which they sign up, beginning with those who sign up in advance on the website.

The Board will hold the public hearing on this item at 1 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible.
