REPORTS

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2019-04260082, I-395 SB at Glebe Road. At approximately 8:20 a.m. on April 26, an officer on routine patrol effected a traffic stop on a vehicle for a window tint violation. The driver was issued a warning for the window tint violation. During the course of the investigation, the driver was determined to be a violent convicted felon and a subsequent consent search of the vehicle yielded a firearm and ammunition. Franklin Pettiford, 46, of Washington, D.C. was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon. He was held on no bond.

GRAND LARCENY (Significant), 2019-04270227, 2700 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 6:04 p.m. on April 28, police were dispatched to the report of three suspicious subjects inside of a business. Upon arrival, it was determined that the three subjects inside the store matched the description of suspects involved in a prior larceny at another one of the business' other locations in Maryland. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that three suspects allegedly entered the store and Suspect One began to conceal merchandise inside of a bag while Suspect Two attempted to block her actions from view. The third suspect then exited the store and alerted the other suspects to the increasing police presence. The other two suspects subsequently exited the store. Suspect One then entered a neighboring business, where she discarded the bag of merchandise, which was later recovered by security. Arriving officers had already established a perimeter, and, after a brief foot pursuit, Suspects One and Two were detained. Units located the third suspect in the area and detained her without incident. Keniesha Guzman, 28, of Newark, N.J. was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny and Larceny with Intent to Sell. Javier Herrera, 38, of Newark, N.J. was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Conspiracy to Commit Grand Larceny and Larceny with Intent to Sell. Lanashie Greene, 22, of Newark, N.J. was arrested and charged with Identity Theft and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny.
