REPORTS


UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2020-01120164/01120178, 4300 block of 17th Street N. At approximately 4:21 p.m. on January 12, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that a witness observed the male suspect enter a home under construction. Officers took the suspect into custody without incident as he exited the residence. While investigating the incident, it was determined the individual was a suspect in an earlier assault and battery in which he allegedly inappropriately touched a female victim at the intersection of 16th Street N. and Glebe Road. Derek Eddy, 21, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry, Assault & Battery and Identity Theft. He was held on no bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2020-01100226, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:44 p.m. on January 10, police were dispatched to the report of pepper spray which had been discharged inside a business. Upon arrival, it was determine that the female suspect entered a business, discharged pepper sprayed at a male victim and fled the scene. The victim declined medical treatment. The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 5'10"-6'0", wearing a hat, dark shirt, skinny jeans or leggings, boots, wearing a jacket around her waist and carrying a brown purse. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2020-01100189, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on January 10, police were approached by the manager of a business regarding stolen merchandise. The investigation determined that approximately 30 minutes prior, two unknown suspects entered a business and attempted to leave in possession of merchandise that had not been paid for. Employees attempted to stop them from exiting, however, the suspects threatened the employees with a taser and fled prior to police arrival. Suspect One is described as a black female, with black hair braids, approximately 5'3", wearing a black coat, gray jeans and gray shoes. Suspect Two is described as a black female with her hair in a ponytail, approximately 5'8", wearing a pink coat and boots. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2020-01110212, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:54 p.m. on January 11, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered a business and began selecting merchandise. An employee approached the suspect to offer assistance, however, he fled towards the exit. The employee attempted to grab the merchandise as he exited the store, however, the suspect swung his arm at her, striking the victim, and fled prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a red and white jacket, gray hoodie with the hood up over a doo-rag and white shoes. The victim suffered minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2020-01110218, 1300 block of S. Quincy Street. At approximately 7:23 p.m. on January 11, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 11:00 a.m. and 7:19 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a residence, causing damage, and rummaged through items. Nothing was reported stolen from the residence. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2020-01100155, 6000 block of 5th Place N. At approximately 2:54 p.m. on January 10, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect gained entry to the victim's unlocked vehicle and stole items of value, then entered a residence, where he came in contact with the victim. The victim yelled at the suspect, who then fled on foot prior to police arrival. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that an additional unlocked vehicle in the area was rummaged through and items of value stolen. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20's, wearing a black hoodie. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 2020-01110066/01110078/01110103, 1500 block of S. George Mason Drive/5100 block of 12th Road S./4500 block of 28th Road S. At approximately 5:44 a.m. on January 11, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that approximately ten vehicles in the area had their windows smashed and airbags stolen. There is no suspect(s) description.
