REPORTS


MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2020-06300086, 1700 block of Crystal Drive. At approximately 11:33 a.m. on June 30, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that a verbal dispute between known individuals escalated to a physical altercation. The suspect and victim were separated by witnesses, however, the suspect then allegedly threw part of a drill at the victim, causing a laceration. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Alex Avendano Espimal, 22, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding.

BRANDISHING,  2020-07010005, 2600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 12:30 a.m. on July 1, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect was operating as a food delivery driver when he became irate that the order he was picking up was not ready and began yelling at an employee, who ignored him. The suspect then approached the employee and brandished a firearm. He fled the scene in his vehicle prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a Black male in his early 20's, approximately 6'1", with a skinny build, wearing a black facial covering, black skull cap, white t-shirt and blue jeans. The vehicle is described as a dark colored sedan with unknown Maryland tags. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2020-07010038, 400 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 7:23 a.m. on July 1, police were dispatched with medics to the late report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. the victim was walking in the area of the 400 block of 23rd Street S. when he was approached by an unknown suspect who struck him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness. The suspect then assaulted him and stole his personal belongings. The victim sustained minor injuries. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
