REPORTS
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2020-05140004, 4300 block of N. Pershing Drive. At approximately 12:35 a.m. on May 14, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined that a verbal dispute between known individuals escalated to a physical altercation, during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a pocket knife, causing a laceration. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival. Officers developed a possible suspect description, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Melvin Farmer, 49, of Alexandria, VA, was arrested and charged with Malicious Wounding, DUI, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (x4) and Operating a Vehicle Without a License. He was held on no bond.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (Significant), 2020-05140079. 800 block of N. Wakefield Street. At approximately 2:45 p.m. on May 14, police were dispatched to the report of vandalism. Upon police arrival, the suspect entered his residence and allegedly began throwing items, including a dumbbell, from a broken window. Officers gained entry to the residence and took the suspect into custody. The investigation determined the suspect damaged four vehicles in the area. No injuries were reported. Darrel Pearce, 62, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor Destruction of Property (x4), Felony Destruction of Property and Felony Unlawful Wounding.
