REPORTS


ASSAULT & BATTERY ON POLICE, 2021-04180143, 3500 block of S. Ball Street. At approximately 8:28 p.m. on April 18, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute. Upon arrival, officers located the parties in the hallway of a residence and separated them to conduct the investigation. While officers were attempting to interview the female suspect, she became combative and bit two officers. With the assistance of additional responding officers, she was taken into custody. The officers were treated for minor injuries at an area hospital. The investigation determined that the female suspect and male victim became engaged in verbal dispute, during which the suspect allegedly tried to hit and bite the victim. Kassandra Iriarte, 25, of Annandale, VA, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on Law Enforcement Officer, Assault and Battery, and Obstruction of Justice.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-04160193, 3200 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 6:40 p.m. on April 16, police were dispatched to the report of an assault in progress. The reporting party advised dispatch that they observed two women physically fighting inside a parked vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, saw that the driver had injuries to her face and removed both occupants. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the passenger allegedly struck the driver multiple times. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, a controlled substance was located. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Susie Gaitan, 39, of Arlington, VA, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Drunk in Public and Possession of a Schedule I/II Substance. She was held on no bond.

ROBBERY, 2021-04160167, 2800 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 4:22 p.m. on April 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered the business and began concealing merchandise into a plastic bag before being confronted by an employee. The suspect allegedly stood over the employee until she moved out of the way. He fled on foot prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a Black male, 5'10" to 6'2" tall, weighing 200 to 250 pounds, wearing a grey hat, black hoodie, blue jeans and black knit running shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2021-04170015/04170016, 6000 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 1:23 a.m. on April 17, police were dispatched to the report of multiple audible security alarms. Upon arrival, it was determined that multiple businesses had their front doors damaged, with two of the businesses being burglarized and two of the businesses showing signs of attempted forced entry. A cash register with an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from one business, while no other items were reported stolen. Officers established a perimeter and the area was checked with negative results. The investigation revealed that the three suspects, who were wearing dark colored clothing and face masks, had fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle prior to the arrival of police. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2021-04170017, 5800 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 1:33 a.m. on April 17, police were dispatched to the report of a glass break alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined that employees were inside the closed business when they heard glass break, followed by footsteps and unknown individuals talking. The investigation determined that three unknown suspects forced entry into the business through a window, stole two cash registers containing an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers established a perimeter and the area was checked with negative results. No injuries were reported. There are no suspect descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY
, 2021-04170105, 2400 block of S. Lowell Street. At approximately 1:44 p.m. on April 17, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was inside her residence when she heard someone knocking on the front door. When she answered, she encountered the female suspect. The victim advised she had the wrong address and shut the door. A short time later, the female suspect, accompanied by a male suspect, entered the victim's residence. As the victim was running past the suspects to exit the residence, the male suspect pushed her. The victim was able to exit and call police at a neighbor's residence. The victim then observed the suspects fleeing the scene on foot. She later determined her cell phone was stolen from the residence. Suspect One is described as a Black female, 16 — 18 years old, 5'5" — 5'6" tall with a skinny build. She was wearing a black/gray hoodie with jeans. Suspect Two is described as a light skinned Black male, 18 — 20 years old, approximately 6'5" tall with an athletic build. He was wearing a black/dark hoodie and jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL FILMING, 2021-04170109, 1200 block of N. Vietch Street. At approximately 2:19 p.m. on April 17, police were dispatched to the report of a peeping tom. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was inside a stall in a restroom when he looked up and observed a hand holding a phone that appeared to be recording. The victim exited the stall and confronted the male suspect who was attempting to leave the restroom. A verbal altercation ensued during which the suspect left the property. The suspect is described as a Black male, bald, approximately 5'11" tall and weighing 150 lbs. The investigation is ongoing.
