REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2021-12030025, 1300 block of N. Barton Street. At approximately 2:17 a.m. on December 3, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, officers met with the two female reporting parties who stated that they were walking in the area when they observed two male subjects following closely behind them. One of the subjects remained close to their vehicle, making them uncomfortable to enter it and they requested the assistance of police. While speaking with the reporting parties, officers observed the two subjects in the area and made contact with them. One subject appeared to be under the influence and refused to comply with officers’ commands. While placing him under arrest for drunk in public, he became combative and a brief struggle ensued before he was taken into custody. During a search of his person incident to arrest, the subject continued to disregard officers’ commands, acted disorderly and kicked two officers. John Walker, 45, of Arlington Va., was arrested and charged with Assault & Battery on Police (x2), Obstruction of Justice, and Public Intoxication. He was held without bail.
