REPORTS

ROBBERY, 2021-02240014, 3500 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 1:09 a.m. on February 24, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered a business and allegedly began selecting merchandise. The victim refused the suspect service citing restrictions on the sales of alcohol during the overnight hours. The suspect and victim became engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated to a physical altercation, during which the victim was able to recover the merchandise. The suspect re-entered the business in an attempt to gather additional restricted merchandise and a second physical altercation ensue, at which point a witness intervened. Arriving officers took the suspect into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was also determined to be wanted out of Fairfax County. Fabian Mungal, 26, of Fairfax, Va., was arrested and charged with Robbery and Drunk in Public, and served with the outstanding warrant.

VEHICLE TAMPERING (significant) 2021-02250015, 3500 block of 6^th Street S. At approximately 2:24 a.m. on February 25, police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle tampering. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside his residence when he observed two suspects near his unlocked vehicle, one of whom had allegedly entered the vehicle. The victim attempted to confront the suspects, who fled on foot. A lookout was broadcast, and an officer in the area located one of the suspects nearby and took him into custody without incident. The second suspect was located in the area of S. Glebe Road and Arlington Boulevard and taken into custody without incident. Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle. The juvenile suspects were identified and released to their guardians. The investigation is ongoing.
