REPORTS

BURGLARY, 2021-01150117, 2000 block of N. Cleveland Street. At approximately 1:54 p.m. on January 15, police were dispatched to the report of a dispute. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was inside her residence when she heard the known suspects banging on the door. The victim began to call police, at which point the suspects forced entry into the residence, destroyed electronics and other household items, assaulted the victim, then fled prior to police arrival. Warrants for Breaking and Entering to Commit Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery, and Destruction of Property were obtained for both suspects.

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2021-01160146, 1400 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 3:18 p.m. on January 16, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect allegedly stole merchandise from a business, and upon being detained by loss prevention, they located a firearm on the suspect's person and the stolen merchandise. Eyalan Owona, 20, of Upper Marlboro, Md., was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Petit Larceny: Shoplifting, and released on a summons.

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2021-01160194, Key Boulevard at N. Nash Street. At approximately 6:48 p.m. on January 16, an officer on patrol effected a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. During the course of the investigation, officers observed a firearm inside the vehicle and, during a search of the vehicle, located marijuana. Robert Matthews, 37, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, and issued a warning for Expired Registration. He was released on a summons.

ARMED ROBBERY (late), 2021-01180092, 2400 block of S. Lowell Street. At approximately 1:02 p.m. on January 18, police were dispatched to the late report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 8:25 a.m. on January 16, the victim was waiting outside for a ride to a shooting range when he was approached from behind by the unknown suspect. The suspect then grabbed a case containing a firearm from the victim. When the victim turned around, he observed the suspect pointing a firearm at him. The suspect then fled on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6'1"-6'2", wearing blue jeans, a black hooded jacket, black ski mask, and black and red shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2021-01180076, 4900 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 11:23 a.m. on January 18, police were dispatched to report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that an employee observed the suspect conceal merchandise on his person. When she attempted to ask for it back, the suspect slapped her, then fled on a bike prior to police arrival. The victim was not injured. The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a gray jacket, gray undershirt, black hat, black mask, blue jeans, black and white shoes, with a black and gray bag. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2021-01170063, 1200 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 9:30 a.m. on January 17, police were dispatched to the late report of an unlawful entry. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 6:45 p.m. on January 16, an unknown male suspect gained entry to a commercial building and alleged he worked there when challenged by an employee. The suspect then attempted to gain access to a secure floor before exiting the building via the parking garage. It was later determined the suspect had also entered multiple businesses within the property and stole items of value from the lobby of one of the businesses. The suspect is described as a Black male in his late 40's or 50's, 5'10", 160 lbs., with a short gray beard, wearing a black hat, blue and white mask, gray zip up hoodie, dark blue shirt, dark gray jeans, and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2021-01180174, 900 block of N. Quincy Street. At approximately 7:58 p.m. on January 18, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that an unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a vacant commercial property, causing damage. Nothing was determined to be stolen from the property. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
