REPORTS

BURGLARY (late), 2022-01030204, 1600 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 4:37 p.m. on January 2, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined that an employee of the residential building observed multiple stolen packages inside of what was supposed to be an unoccupied apartment and contacted police. Arriving officers conducted a search of the residence and did not locate anyone inside, however, personal items belonging to the suspect and alleged stolen property were recovered. Warrants for Burglary and Petit Larceny were obtained for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2022-01020174, 800 block of S. Florida Street. At approximately 9:38 p.m. on January 2, police were dispatched to the report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victims were inside the residence when the unknown suspect(s) threw a rock through the front window, shattering it. No injuries were reported. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2022-01020163, 900 block of S. Columbus Street. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 2, an off-duty officer was outside of a residential building when she observed the unknown suspect cut and tear off a window screen from inside the building. Upon investigating, the officer observed the male suspect inside of the vacant residence rummaging through items. When the suspect exited the apartment, the officer identified herself and attempted to detain him. The suspect ignored the officer’s commands and fled the scene on foot. Additional units canvassed the area with negative results. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’8” – 5’9” with longer, light brown hair, wearing a black t-shirt, black ripped jeans and red shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
