REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2021-07160106, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 2:20 p.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female suspect entered a business and allegedly began concealing merchandise into her backpack. An employee confronted the suspect outside the store and she physically pushed him repeatedly before fleeing towards the parking garage. Responding officers located the suspect at the Metro and attempted to take her into custody. Following a brief struggle, the suspect was taken into custody, as well as an unknown male suspect. The investigation revealed that upon entering the Metro, the female suspect attempted to give the male suspect, who was determined to be a juvenile, the backpack containing the merchandise and urged him to flee the area. The male juvenile was also accompanied by a female juvenile. Monica Barnes, 47, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Robbery, Resisting Arrest, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (x2). Petitions are pending for the juvenile suspect. The male juvenile suspect and the female juvenile were released to a guardian.
LARCENY (Significant), 2021-07180152, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 2:08 p.m. on July 18, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect entered a business, allegedly selected merchandise and left without paying. The suspect fled from responding officers into the Pentagon City Metro and entered the tracks. The tracks were searched with negative results. At approximately 4:42 p.m., the suspect was observed inside the Pentagon City Metro. A perimeter was established, and with the assistance of Metro Transit Police and Pentagon Force Protection Agency, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. While in custody, he provided false information to officers regarding his identity. Deallen Price, 27, of District Heights, MD was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, False ID to Avoid Arrest, Obstruction of Justice and Trespassing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2021-07160118, 1800 block of N. Wayne Street. At approximately 2:48 p.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person inside the victim's garage. Upon arrival, officers located the male suspect and determined that the reporting party observed the suspect peering into parked vehicles and then enter into the victim's garage and attempt to take a bicycle. Ernest Williams, 70, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry and Larceny.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-07180059, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 2:31 a.m. on July 18, police were dispatched to the report of a trouble unknown. Upon arrival, officers met with the male victim who was being treated on scene by medics. The investigation determined that between 1:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., the suspect began active aggressively towards other patrons inside a restaurant. A verbal argument ensued which escalated into a physical altercation outside the establishment. The suspect allegedly produced a knife and when a female bystander who was known to the suspect attempted to intervene, she suffered an injury. The suspect and female bystander left the area. A short time later, the suspect returned to retrieve his vehicle and drove onto the sidewalk, striking the male victim whom he had the previous altercation with. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a thin build, approximately 19 to 24 years old, 5'7" tall with short black hair. The suspect vehicle is described as an older model black Honda Civic. The investigation is ongoing.
SEXUAL BATTERY (late), 2021-07170045, Wilson Boulevard at N. Herndon Street. At approximately 2:32 a.m. on July 17, police were dispatched to the late report of a sexual battery. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 1:50 a.m., the victim was sitting outside of a business when she was approached by the unknown male suspect who sat down beside her. The suspect began to engage her in conversation and proceeded to grab her inappropriately and attempted to pull her towards him with his other hand. The victim then got up and ran towards a witness. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 200 pounds, 5'7" to 5'9" tall with dark colored hair and a round face, wearing a red t-shirt, and pushing a dark colored bicycle. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2021-07170188, 3100 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 6:43 p.m. on July 17, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business and selected merchandise but was unable to pay. When the employee told him he could not have the item without purchasing it, the suspect verbally threatened him and implied he had a weapon before leaving the business with the merchandise. A short time later, the suspect returned to the store, approached the counter again with merchandise and challenged the employee to a fight when the employee requested payment for the item. The suspect left the area and reentered for a third time but left without incident. Additional officers located the suspect in the area and charges are pending.
BURGLARY, 2021-07180200, 800 block of 26
th Street S. At approximately 6:58 p.m. on July 18, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 3:30 p.m., the victim returned to an under construction residence and found the front and back doors open. Various tools were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing
BURGLARY, 2021-07170084, 1400 block of N. Nelson Street. At approximately 8:20 a.m. on July 17, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., the unknown male suspect forced entry into the victim's residence. At approximately 8:00 a.m., the male suspect awoke the victim and allegedly asked where his belongings were. The victim followed the suspect throughout the house while he allegedly continued looking for his belongings before he left the residence. The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 23 to 29 years old, 5'7" to 5'9" tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2021-07160105, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 2:04 p.m. on July 16, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure. The investigation determined that the unknown male suspect exposed himself to the male victim and allegedly began masturbating. The victim then left the area and the suspect followed behind, exposing himself and masturbating for a second time before fleeing the area. Arriving officers canvassed the area with negative results. The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 50 to 60 years old, 5'4" tall with a slim build and gray hair. He was wearing all black clothing, blue and white hat and a black and orange face mask at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
