REPORTS

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2021-10310061, 1200 Block of N. Courthouse Road. At approximately 2:27 a.m. on October 31, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. The preliminary investigation indicates two large groups became involved in a physical altercation inside a hotel, during which the female victim was stabbed and the fire alarm had been pulled resulting in occupants exiting the building. Upon arrival, officers located the female victim in the parking lot suffering from a laceration and began performing emergency first aid until medics arrived. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries considered non-life threatening. Officers responding inside the hotel located a suspect armed with a knife attempting to force entry into a hotel room. The suspect ignored the officer’s commands and the officer deployed a taser. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Latrell Reed, 20, of Washington D.C. was arrested and charged with Carrying Concealed Weapon. The investigation into the events that preceded the malicious wounding are ongoing.

WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2021-10290152, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 5:00 p.m. on October 29, police were dispatched to the report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, the officer met with two Loss Prevention staff from the business who observed the male suspect enter into the store and allegedly conceal merchandise into his bags. During the course of the police investigation, the suspect provided the officer with false information regarding his identity. Additionally, during a search of his person incident to arrest, the officer recovered a taser. Deangelo Hammond, 29, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Stun Gun, Petit Larceny, and Identity Theft. He was held on a secured bond.

ROBBERY, 2021-10310241, 800 block of S. Carlin Springs Road. At approximately 8:40 p.m. on October 31, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately 10 minutes prior, the victim was walking in the area when he was approached by the two unknown male suspects. The suspects each brandished a pocket knife and demanded that the victim give them his money. The victim stated that he did not have any money and the two suspects fled the scene on foot. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 5’6” tall, wearing a blue denim jacket, blue jeans, black shoes and a black face mask. Suspect Two is described as a Black male, approximately 5’6” tall, wearing a blue hoodie, blue and white jacket, blue jeans, black shoes and a black face mask. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2021-10290208, 1900 block of N. Rhodes Street. At approximately 10:26 p.m. on October 29, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that a witness observed the unknown male suspect banging on the victim’s front door for an extended period of time and alerted the victim. The victim returned to his residence to find that the suspect had forced entry inside. Upon seeing the victim, the suspect fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a White male, approximately 20-30 years old, 6’1” tall with blonde hair, wearing a dark colored hoodie, shorts, white socks and sandals. The victim was provided with information regarding the process of obtaining warrants.
