REPORTS
BRANDISHING, 2021-10050140, S. George Mason Drive at S. Buchanan Street. At approximately 3:35 p.m. on October 5, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated he was walking in the area when he was approached by two juvenile suspects. The two suspects allegedly attempted to engage in a physical altercation with the victim during which Suspect One brandished a BB gun and Suspect Two brandished a knife. The victim told the two suspects he did not want to fight and they left the area on foot. A lookout was broadcast and the suspects were located in the area. Officers recovered the BB gun and released the suspects to their guardians as the investigation continues.
ROBBERY, 2021-10050091, 700 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 12:42 p.m. on October 5, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person with a knife. A lookout was broadcast and the suspect was located in the area and taken into custody without incident. The investigation determined that a store employee observed the suspect attempting to leave the business with unpaid merchandise. The employee confronted the suspect, who allegedly brandished a knife and verbally threatened the employee before leaving the scene on foot. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was involved in previous robberies of the same business. Jamia Gunner, 43, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Robbery (x3) and Petit Larceny (x3).
