Arlington Honors 2022 Women of Vision
Published on March 28, 2022
On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the Arlington County Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will honor four women for their commitment and leadership in the Arlington community with 2022 Arlington County Women of Vision awards.
- BUSINESS: Karen Bate and Evelyn Powers founded the women’s networking organization Awesome Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). What started as a small, pro bono project, has grown to multiple chapters across the region, and includes service as the Women in Business program of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
- NONPROFIT: Natalie Foote is President/CEO and a founder of Restoration Immigration Legal Aid (RILA), an organization that supports asylum-seekers, domestic violence survivors, and other immigrants with legal and social needs. Created in 2016, RILA now serves 260 active cases with access to pro bono legal assistance and referrals to additional resources.
- GOVERNMENT: Tara Magee leads the Girls’ Outreach program, an innovative initiative of the Arlington Courts system that provides community, healing, and learning for at-risk girls and girls who have experienced trauma. Magee’s hard work and creativity enabled the program to remain open to continue serving clients during the pandemic. The program’s success is demonstrated by retention of the students and a waiting list to join.
Join us to celebrate these extraordinary women at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Arlington Economic Development’s offices (1100 North Glebe Road, Suite 1500, Arlington VA).
Tickets are not required, but a $25 donation per person is suggested. RSVP to csales@arlingtonva.us.
