REPORTS
GRAND LARCENY (Significant), 2023-01180108, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:04 p.m. on January 18, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect had entered the business, selected merchandise and attempted to exit without payment. A loss prevention officer confronted the suspect and he fled the scene on foot. A suspect description was broadcast and responding officers located him walking in the area. An officer gave the suspect commands which he refused to follow and fled the scene on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody. Necho Taylor, 32, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2023-01190004, 4200 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 12:09 a.m. on January 19, police were dispatched to the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the female suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment. An employee confronted the female suspect during which the suspect physically assaulted the employee. The male suspect then approached and physically assaulted the employee before fleeing the scene on foot with the female suspect. Responding officers located the suspects in the area and took them into custody. Ashley Campbell, 29 of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with robbery. Adrian Smith, 37, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery. Both suspects were held without bond.
