REPORTS
WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2022-01220127, 5100 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 1:18 p.m. on January 22, police were dispatched to the report of an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the known suspect and victim were involved in a verbal dispute when the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, threatened her and took her phone. She was able to leave the residence and contact police. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect had brandished a firearm earlier in the day. Darrious Sadler, 22, of Washington D.C., was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery, Brandishing, and Prevent 911 Call.
ASSAULT & BATTERY/BURGLARY, 2022-01200193/01200200, Columbia Pike and S. George Mason Drive/1000 block of S. Taylor Court. At approximately 9:05 p.m. on January 20, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was sitting on a bench in the area of Columbia Pike at S. George Mason Drive when the known suspect took his wallet and attempted to leave the area. The victim confronted the suspect and a physical altercation ensued, during which the suspect struck the victim in the head. The victim was able to retrieve his wallet before the suspect fled the scene on foot. A lookout was broadcast and officers located the suspect in the area of Columbia Pike and S. Taylor Street. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that following the assault, the suspect entered into an open garage and stole a bicycle. Jimmy Almendarez-Galeas, 46, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, Assault & Battery, Burglary and Grand Larceny.
WEAPONS VIOLATION, 2022-01210129, 800 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 1:41 p.m. on January 21, police were alerted to a possibly stolen vehicle traveling in the area. Officers canvassed the area, located the stolen vehicle with two occupants and deployed stop sticks, causing the tires of the vehicle to deflate. The driver continued to travel at a low rate of speed and a vehicle pursuit was initiated before the driver fled into Washington D.C. While fleeing the scene, the suspects threw suspected narcotics and two firearms from the vehicle which were recovered by officers. Suspect One is described as a heavy set Black male in his 20’s or 30’s, with black hair and wearing a dark jacket. Suspect Two is described as a Black male in his 20’s or 30’s, with a short goatee, glasses and wearing a neon green sweatshirt. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 2022-01230116, 2100 block of Richmond Highway. At approximately 1:34 p.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny from auto. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 2:00 p.m. on January 22 and 1:23 p.m. on January 23, the unknown suspect(s) stole tires and rims from four vehicles. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
