REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-01090007, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 12:19 a.m. on January 9, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined a fight had occurred inside an establishment. While officers were investigating the circumstances of the incident, the suspect left the scene. A short time later, police were contacted again when the suspect returned to the area. As an officer approached the suspect to continue the investigation, he attempted to flee on foot but was stopped by another officer and a struggle ensued, during which the suspect was non-compliant, actively resisted arrested and assaulted an officer. With the assistance of additional officers, he was taken into custody. During a search of his person incident to arrest, suspected narcotics were recovered. Jonathan Tchougoue, 25, of Columbia, MD was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Justice, Assault on Police, Drunk in Public and Possession of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.
SHOT FIRED, 2023-01070239, 4500 block of 31st Street S. At approximately 10:07 p.m. on January 7, police were dispatched to the report of trouble unknown after receiving reports of an argument and possible shot fired inside a residential building. Responding officers located damage to the ceiling of a hallway which was consistent with the discharge of a firearm. No injuries were reported. There is no suspect description. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
PEEPING, 2023-01070041, 2300 block of 10th Street N. At approximately 2:21 a.m. on January 6, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when she was awoken to noise outside her window and observed the unknown male suspect outside who then fled the scene on foot. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-01080061, 3500 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 5:13 a.m. on January 8, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the three suspects entered a business, during which two of the suspects went behind the counter and stole cartons of cigarettes and cash from the register. The three suspects then fled the scene in a gray or silver sedan. No injuries were reported. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 5’10” tall, 150 lbs, wearing a black jacket and jeans. Suspect Two is described as a Black male in his mid-20’s, approximately 5’8” tall, wearing a black jacket and dark colored pants. Suspect Three is described as a Black male, approximately 6’ tall, wearing a black jacket and light pants The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2023-01060288, 4300 block of 2nd Road N. At approximately 10:03 p.m. on January 6, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown male suspect forced entry into the occupied residence and stole personal belongings before fleeing the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area for suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as an unknown race male with a slim-build, approximately 5’9 wearing a green jacket and black hat. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY, 2023-01080178, 3500 block of N. Nottingham Street. At approximately 6:51 p.m. on January 8, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the home and rummaged through items. No items were reported stolen at the time of the report. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
