REPORTS

CARJACKING, 2022-11270066, N. Oakland Street at Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 10:53 a.m. on November 27, police were dispatched to the report of a carjacking just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was sitting in his parked vehicle when the suspect approached, opened the driver’s side door, grabbed the victim’s arm and told him to get out of the vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle and the suspect entered and drove away. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and a responding officer observed the vehicle in the area of Arlington Boulevard and Washington Boulevard. The officer activated their emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect continued to flee and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated after the suspect entered Washington D.C. on I-395. The vehicle was later recovered in Washington D.C. by the Metropolitan Police Department. The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20’s with short hair, approximately 5’10” and wearing dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

BRANDISHING, 2022-11250031, SB I-395 at Glebe Road. At approximately 8:33 a.m. on November 25, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was driving in the area when the male driver of another vehicle began yelling at the victim and allegedly displayed a firearm before exiting the highway. The victim safely exited the highway and contacted dispatch. No injuries were reported. During the course of the investigation, the suspect driver was identified and a warrant for Brandishing was obtained. The investigation is ongoing.

BRANDISHING, 2022-11260202, 2500 block of 9th Road S. At approximately 8:37 p.m. on November 26, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Responding officers located the male subject in the area and detained him without incident. The investigation indicates the subject was allegedly holding a weapon outside a business when he became involved in a verbal dispute with the two reporting parties. No injuries were reported. During a search of the subject, a pocketknife was recovered. No firearm was located on the subject or in the area of the incident. Prosecution was not desired by either of the reporting parties and the subject was released on scene.

BURGLARY (Late), 2022-11270096, 1200 block of 20th Street S. At approximately 2:58 p.m. on November 27, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 4:08 a.m. on November 27, the unknown suspect(s) entered into the victims’ residence and stole the keys to one of their vehicles. The suspect(s) then rummaged through both of the victims’ vehicles parked in front of the residence and stole gym bags containing various sporting equipment and clothing. No items were reported damaged. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (Late), 2022-11240094, 3500 block of 13th Street N. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on November 24, police were dispatched to the late report of a destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 10:00 p.m. on November 23 and 12:00 p.m. on November 24, the unknown suspect(s) damaged the victims’ fence and property in their backyard. A cell phone not belonging to the homeowners was located on scene. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY (Late), 2022-11240061, 1300 block of N. Courthouse Road. At approximately 4:55 a.m. on November 24, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 3:26 a.m., the unknown male suspect entered into the unsecured commercial building. The suspect then discharged a fire extinguisher in an under-construction area within the building before pulling the fire alarm and fleeing the scene on foot. No items were reported stolen or damaged. The suspect is described as a Black male with an athletic build and short black hair, wearing a gray jacket, dark pants, and white tennis shoes. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY (Late), 2022-11270052, 6000 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 8:11 a.m. on November 27, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 7:00 p.m. on November 25 and 6:50 a.m. on November 27, the unknown suspect(s) forced entry into an office, damaging the locks that secured it, rummaged through items and vandalized the property with graffiti and ink. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2022-11260197, 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 8:19 p.m. on November 26, an officer in the area heard what appeared to be yelling and observed two juvenile male subjects enter into the school. Upon observing the officer, the subjects exited the school and fled the scene on foot. Additional units responded and conducted a search of the area yielding negative results. No items were reported damaged or stolen. The two subjects are described as a juvenile Hispanic male and a juvenile White male. The investigation is ongoing.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-11230135, 3400 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 3:30 p.m. on November 23, police were dispatched to the report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim and known suspect were involved in a verbal dispute, during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a spatula, causing a laceration. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A warrant for Malicious Wounding was obtained for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 2022-11230126/2022-11230160, 2800 block of Washington Boulevard/N. Jackson Street at Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 2:55 p.m. on November 23, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted larceny from auto. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim witnessed the unknown male suspect rummaging through his vehicle. When the victim approached, the suspect began to flee the scene on foot. The victim followed the suspect during which the suspect brandished a knife and fled the area. At approximately 3:20 p.m., police were dispatched to an additional call in the 2800 block of Washington Boulevard for a suspect matching the description of the previous incident who had stolen a running, unoccupied vehicle. The vehicle was later located unoccupied in the 2200 block of 19th Court N. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30 years old, 5’6-5’7, with long curly hair, wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt, dark colored pants and a dark colored baseball hat. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2022-11250018, 500 block of S. Walter Reed Drive. At approximately 4:36 a.m. on November 25, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was walking in the area of 7th Street S. and S. Walter reed Drive when two unknown male suspects approached the victim, threatened him with what he believed to be a firearm and demanded his personal belongings. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s wallet and cell phone. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. No injuries were reported. Suspect One is described as a Black male wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. Suspect Two is described an unknown race male wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

GRAND LARCENY AUTO/LARCENY FROM AUTO (Series), 2022-11250027/2022-11250029/2022-11250035/2022-11250043/2022-11260096, 5300 block of 27th Street N., 5000 block of 36th Street N., 2300 block of N. Nottingham Street, 6000 block of 27th Street N., 6000 block of 28th Street N. At approximately 7:54 a.m. on November 25, police were dispatched to the late report of a grand larceny auto. During the course of the investigation, it was determined between approximately 2:30 p.m. on November 24 and 7:45 a.m. on November 25, five vehicles were reported stolen from the area. The stolen vehicles are described as a 2017 Toyota Rav4, Gray, MA License Plate: 50DC38, 2020 Kia Telluride, Gray, VA License Plate: VXY4222, 2017 Honda Odyssey, Black, VA License Plate: 1265SC, 2021 Range Rover Sport, Blue, VA License Plate: UGF2051. Additionally, one vehicle in the area was rummaged through and cash and sunglasses were stolen. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2022-11260036, 4100 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 2:42 a.m. on November 26, police were dispatched to the report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined a verbal dispute had occurred between the two victims and five unknown suspects, during which the suspects assaulted the victims. The suspects then fled the scene in a grey sedan. The victims were treated on scene by medics for non-life threatening injuries and refused transport to a hospital. During the incident, a window pane at a neighboring establishment was shattered. The suspects are described as four Hispanic males and one female. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED CARJACKING, 2022-11260179, 1700 block of N. Uhle Street. At approximately 6:37 p.m. on November 26, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted carjacking. Upon arrival, it was determined Victim One was inside her parked vehicle when the suspect approached, opened the door and ordered her to exit. Victim One exited the vehicle and the suspect entered but Victim One still had the keys. The suspect then fled the scene and approached Victim Two who had just parked in the 2100 block of Key Boulevard. The suspect grabbed the victim’s arm and demanded her keys. When she refused, he fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported and no items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’6, 30 years old, skinny build, wearing a knit cap, black jacket and black/gray jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
