Arlington County Sheriff Announces New Public Information Officer

ARLINGTON, Va. – Arlington County Sheriff José Quiroz appointed Amy Meehan as the new Public Information Officer (PIO) for the County Sheriff’s Office. Meehan’s background in communications spans more than 20 years at various public relations agencies, nonprofits, tech startups and more. Her experience also includes strategic planning, media relations, conference and event planning and community outreach. She was also certified as an elementary and special education teacher in Arlington Public Schools (APS) before returning to the communications field a few years ago. She and her family live in Arlington.  

“My immediate goal is for Amy to assist the Sheriff's Office with sharing information with the community that will build partnerships and transparency. Amy will work closely with the Sheriff's Office staff, county departments and the community,” said Sheriff Quiroz.
