REPORTS
ROBBERY, 2023-12210129, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 12:38 p.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise and allegedly passed all points of sale without payment during which an employee confronted him. The suspect then assaulted the employee, discarded the stolen items and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers located the suspect in the area, who attempted to flee, and resisted officers as he was taken into custody. During a search of the suspect incident to arrest, a burglarious tool was recovered. The suspect sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. Todd Lawson, 55, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery, Obstruction of Justice and Possession of Burglarious Tools. He was held without bond.
BURGLARY (late),2023-12210033, 1500 block of S. Fern Street. At approximately 4:59 a.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 3:00 a.m., the unknown male suspect forced entry into the business, tampered with an ATM and stole two cash registers and cigarettes before leaving the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 25-30 years old, 5’7”-5’11”, wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and a black hat. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2023-12210039, 2000 block of S. Bell Street. At approximately 6:31 a.m. on December 21, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined during the overnight hours from December 20 to December 21, two unknown male suspects entered a construction area, forced entry into a secured office space and two storage units and stole tools and electronics before leaving the scene. Suspect One is described as Black male wearing a navy jacket, grey sweatpants, a black backpack and ski mask. Suspect Two is described as an unknown race male wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
