REPORTS

ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2023-12270010, 4400 block of 31^st Street S. At approximately 1:05 a.m. on December 27, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his residence when he observed the male suspect look into the home and allegedly attempt to open a secured door before leaving the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area, located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. Jose Flores, 31, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Attempted Unlawful Entry. He was released on his own recognizance.

ASSAULT BY MOB, 2023-12260135, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 9:21 p.m. on December 26, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was determined the group of juvenile victims were in the area when a group of approximately 15 suspects approached them and attempted to steal one victim’s clothing items. The victims attempted to leave the area during which one of the suspects struck another victim. The victims then entered a nearby business when the suspects followed them and a physical altercation ensued inside the store, causing property damage. The suspects subsequently fled the scene into the Metro and were not located. No injuries were reported. The suspects are described as Black males in their late teens or early 20’s wearing all black clothing and ski masks. The investigation is ongoing.
