REPORTS
RECOVERED GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 2023-07250262, 2300 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 8:11 p.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who reported his vehicle stolen from a parking garage. A lookout was broadcast and officers observed the suspect in the vehicle in the area of 12th Street S and S. Thomas Street and took him into custody. Jason Cornejo, 32, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny Auto.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2023-07250117, 900 block of S. Dinwiddie Street. At approximately 11:02 a.m. on July 25, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined the witness was in the common area of a residential building which she allegedly observed the male suspect exposing himself. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody without incident. Jevonne Watson, 29, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure.
ATTEMPTED CARJACKING, 2023-07260023, 3400 block of Potomac Avenue. At approximately 1:58 a.m. on July 26, police were dispatched to the report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was inside his parked vehicle when the suspect vehicle pulled behind him and approximately three male suspects exited, brandished firearms and demanded the keys to the victim’s vehicle. The victim drove away and the suspects reentered their vehicle and briefly followed. The victim was then able to return to the scene and speak to police. No injuries were reported. A perimeter was established and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. The suspects are described as three Black males who are approximately 5’6”-5’10” and the suspect vehicle is described as a silver SUV. The investigation is ongoing.
