REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-03060036, 200 block of 12th Street S. At approximately 6:17 a.m. on March 6, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, it was determined the suspect was inside an office building allegedly acting disorderly and had damaged the building’s call box. Responding officers located the suspect in the lobby and took him into custody, during which the suspect resisted arrest and assaulted three officers by biting, kicking and spiting on them. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Erick Anderson, 56, of an unknown address was arrested and charged with Assault on Police (x3) and Destruction of Property.
ROBBERY, 2023-03060180, 4600 block of King Street. At approximately 3:16 p.m. on March 6, police were dispatched to the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that following a verbal dispute with an employee regarding a food order, the suspect went behind the counter and allegedly began taking food items. When an employee approached the suspect, he displayed pepper spray and exited the business with the items. Responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody without incident. No injuries were reported. Marques Johnson, 29, of Alexandria, Va. was arrested and charged with Robbery. He was held without bond.
ROBBERY, 2023-03060186, 3400 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 3:47 p.m. on March 6, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined store employees observed the unknown male suspect enter the business with several duffle bags, collect merchandise and take it into a bathroom. Employees confronted the suspect during which he allegedly made threatening statements before exiting the business with stolen items. A verbal dispute ensued between the suspect and employees, during which the suspect threw a water bottle at an employee resulting in a brief physical altercation. The suspect then fled the scene on foot and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a light-skin, heavy-set Black male, approximately 5’9”, approximately 30-31 years old, with long, curly black hair wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2023-03060126/2023-03060230, Unit block of N. Thomas Street. At approximately 12:24 p.m. on March 6, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was inside a residence when he heard someone enter and observed the suspect. The victim then confronted the suspect and he fled the scene, leaving behind a bag containing change which was later determined to have been stolen from a neighboring unit. No items were reported stolen or damaged from the victim’s apartment. The suspect is described as a heavy-set, Hispanic male in his teens wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and blue shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2023-03060238, 2200 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. At approximately 7:32 p.m. on March 6, police were dispatched to the late report of a burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined between 5:00 p.m. on March 5 and 5:00 p.m. on March 6, the unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the office building, rummaged through the interior and caused property damage. No items were reported stolen or missing. The suspect is described as a middle-aged, heavy set Hispanic male. The investigation is ongoing.
