REPORTS
BURGLARY/ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2023-11190058, 1300 block of S. Fern Street/1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 5:16 a.m. on November 19, police were dispatched to a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 4:56 a.m., the male suspect allegedly entered the business, rummaged through the interior and stole merchandise before leaving the scene. A short time later, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street to the report of a trespassing. Officers made contact with the suspect on scene, determined he matched the description of the suspect from the breaking and entering and took him into custody. While in custody, he spat on an officer. David Guy, 33, of No Fixed Address, was arrested and charged with Assault on Police and Burglary. He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY CAUSTIC AGENT, 2023-11170262, 1400 block of N. Taft Street. At approximately 8:53 p.m. on November 17, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was walking in the area when she observed the female suspect in a gray sedan allegedly driving recklessly, confronted her and a verbal dispute ensued. During the incident, the suspect exited her vehicle and deployed pepper spray before reentering the vehicle and fleeing the scene. Medics responded and evaluated the victim on scene. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a thin-build Black female, approximately 5’7”-6’0” wearing a black shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-11170203, 2700 block of Washington Boulevard. At approximately 5:40 p.m. on November 17, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the unknown male suspect entered the business, collected alcohol and left the store without payment. A store employee then confronted the suspect during which a brief struggle over the merchandise ensued. The suspect then entered his vehicle and reversed, hitting the employee and another parked vehicle before he fled the scene. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing all dark clothing and driving a van. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2023-11190076, 400 block of 23rd Street S. At approximately 8:51 a.m. on November 19, an officer was flagged down by a community member reporting a robbery at a nearby business. Upon arrival, it was determined two male suspects entered the business and one went behind the counter and stole packs of cigarettes while the other stood at the entrance and implied a weapon. The suspects then exited the store and fled the scene in a van. A lookout was broadcast and officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a Black male wearing all black clothing and a face mask. Suspect Two is described as a Black male wearing a black sweatshirt, tan shoes and a face mask. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY (late), 2023-11180236, 1600 block of N. Pierce Street. At approximately 7:27 p.m. on November 18, police were dispatched to the late report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 12:00 a.m. on November 14, the male victim and male suspect, who are known to each other, had a verbal dispute during which the suspect stole the victim’s car keys and vehicle. The victim located his parked, unoccupied vehicle in the area of 17th Street N. and N. Nash Street on November 18, contacted police and reported his phone and car keys missing. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2023-11200025, 1000 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:53 a.m. on November 20, police were dispatched to the late report of suspicious circumstances. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 9:10 p.m. on November 19, the male suspect exited the business with stolen merchandise before returning at approximately 3:20 a.m., forcing entry inside by shattering a glass door and window and stealing additional items. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 25 - 30 years old, wearing black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE (late), 2023-11180160, 4300 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 2:25 p.m. on November 18, police were dispatched to the late report of an exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 1:25 p.m., the male suspect was exiting a residential elevator when he allegedly exposed himself to the female victim before leaving the scene. The suspect is described as a thin-build white male, approximately 6’1” with medium-length blonde hair wearing a grey t-shirt and khaki shorts. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2023-11170169, 1600 block of Arlington Boulevard. At approximately 3:42 p.m. on November 17, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 1:50 p.m., the unknown male suspect attempted to open the front doors of three neighboring residences before leaving the scene on foot. No entry was made into the homes. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a white hat and blue sweater carrying a backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late), 2023-11170237, 1800 block of 28th Street S. At approximately 5:11 p.m. on November 17, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 12:10 a.m. on November 16, the victim was inside her residence when she heard a loud noise and later observed damage to the front door and contacted police. No entry was made into the home. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late), 2023-11180091, 1800 block of 14th Street N. At approximately 8:44 a.m. on November 18, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 6:52 a.m., the unknown male suspect attempted to force entry into the victim’s home before leaving the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a yellow hoodie, dark pants and light shoes carrying a backpack. The investigation is ongoing.
