ARLINGTON, Va. – On Friday, June 16, 2023, nine new deputies of the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office graduated from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy as part of Session 148.
The Academy is a six-month program at the largest regional law enforcement training facility in Virginia. The day prior, the deputies stood in a courtroom among colleagues, family and friends and were sworn in by Arlington Clerk of the Circuit Court Paul Ferguson. They will now complete several weeks of training.
"The combination of classes, physical fitness training, defensive tactics and driving skills have prepared these deputies for the job and I look forward to their continued growth within our agency," said Sheriff Jose Quiroz, Jr. "They can wear their new deputy badges with pride knowing they have the leadership and communication skills to protect and serve in the Courthouse, Detention Facility or on the road transporting inmates and serving civil warrants."
