REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2024-08230114, 1100 block of S. Joyce Street. At approximately 2:59 p.m. on August 23, loss prevention personnel flagged down an officer on a separate call for service to report a robbery just occurred. It was determined the male suspect entered the business, allegedly began concealing merchandise and exited the business without payment. When the suspect was confronted by loss prevention personnel outside the business, he made threatening statements, implied a weapon and fled the scene on foot. A responding officer located the suspect in the Pentagon City Metro and gave him commands to stop, which he disregarded. The suspect remained non-compliant as the officer and loss prevention personnel attempted to detain him during which he shoved the officer. With the assistance of an additional responding officer, the suspect was taken into custody. Loss prevention personnel and the two officers sustained minor injuries. During the course of the investigation, the suspect provided officers with false personal identification information. Carlos Brummitt, 33, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Robbery, Identity Theft and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond.
PEEPING, 2024-08230025, 4300 block of 2nd Road N. At approximately 5:44 a.m. on August 23, police were dispatched to the report of peeping. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when she observed the male suspect allegedly looking into a window of her home. The victim called police and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area and took him into custody. Denis Chen De Leon, 19, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Peeping and Public Intoxication.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2024-08250014, 4100 block of 3rd Road N. At approximately 12:48 a.m. on August 25, police were dispatched to the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim was walking in the area when the male suspect approached him and demanded his personal belongings. When the victim refused, the suspect brandished a knife and assaulted the victim with it, resulting in a laceration. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical attention. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 35-40 years of age with dark hair. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2024-08260021, 300 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 3:12 a.m. on August 26, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when she heard a noise and upon further investigation, observed two male suspects, one who was known to her, attempting to gain entry to the home. The suspects subsequently fled the scene prior to police arrival. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 6’1” wearing a bright colored robe. Suspect Two is described as a Black male wearing all black. The investigation is ongoing.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2024-08250195, 2100 block of Key Boulevard. At approximately 10:00 p.m. on August 25, police were dispatched to the report of the destruction of property. Upon arrival, it was determined a rock was thrown at the window of the victim’s residence, causing it to shatter. The preliminary investigation indicates a dispute between the victim and a known individual preceded the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late) 2024-08220204, 800 block of S. Frederick Street. At approximately 6:52 p.m. on August 22, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 12:00 p.m. on August 20 and 6:30 p.m. on August 22, the suspect(s) attempted to force entry into the victim’s residence before fleeing the scene. There are no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
