REPORTS
CARJACKING, 2024-12180181, 500 block of 14th Street S. At approximately 5:58 p.m. on December 18, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim, who was operating as a delivery driver, was returning to his idling vehicle when the male suspect entered the vehicle and drove away. At the intersection of S. Eads Street and 14th Street S., the victim approached the stolen vehicle on foot and verbally confronted the suspect who then brandished what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene southbound on S. Eads Street in the stolen vehicle. No injuries were reported. There is no suspect description. The stolen vehicle is described as a green 2010 Hyundai Accent with Virginia license plate AFA9802. The investigation is ongoing.
SEXUAL BATTERY (late), 2024-12180190, 8th Road S. at S. Greenbrier Street. At approximately 7:09 p.m. on December 18, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 6:50 p.m., the female victim was walking outside when the male suspect approached her from behind, touched her buttocks and subsequently fled the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, 5’6”, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black gloves and a hoodie. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2024-12180105, 2100 block of 18th Street N. At approximately 12:22 p.m. on December 18, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 10:01 p.m. on December 15 and 11:59 p.m. on December 17, the suspect(s) made entry into the victim’s residence, stole keys and an air soft gun and fled the scene. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
