REPORTS

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2024-02020158, 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 3:01 p.m. on February 2, police were dispatched to the report of trespassing. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect was allegedly acting disorderly inside a business when security personnel told him he needed to leave. The suspect returned a short time later, during which he attempted to strike the security personnel before leaving the scene on foot. Security personnel called police and responding officers located the suspect in the area and attempted to detain him. The suspect was non-compliant and attempted to flee the area on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect pushed an officer and resisted arrest. The suspect was taken into custody and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation of minor injuries. Emmanuel Toefield, 34, of No Fixed Address was arrested and charged with Assault of Police, Assault and Battery and Obstruction of Justice.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-02030161, 1700 block of N. Pierce Street. At approximately 3:16 p.m. on February 3, police were dispatched to the report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined the victim was inside his residence when he heard someone enter and the observed the suspect inside his home. The victim confronted the suspect who subsequently left the scene. During the course of the investigation, it was determined between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. the suspect allegedly entered another nearby residence and stole electronics before leaving the scene. A lookout was broadcast and officers canvassed the area, located the suspect and took him into custody. The stolen items were recovered. David Rivas-Cruz, 21, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry and Grand Larceny.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-02020085, 2700 block of S. Quincy Street. At approximately 9:57 a.m. on February 2, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just discovered. Upon arrival, it was determined the witness entered the vacant apartment during which she observed the unknown male suspect inside. The suspect then exited the residence and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, 40-50 years old, bald, wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2024-02040122, 2500 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 12:32 p.m. on February 4, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure. Officers made contact with the female victim over the phone who reported she was running in the area when the driver of a blue sedan stopped in the travel lane during which she observed him expose himself and subsequently drove away. The suspect is described as a white male with white hair wearing sunglasses. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY (late), 2024-02020151, 1100 block of Army Navy Drive. At approximately 2:29 p.m. on February 2, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 11:31 p.m. on January 31, the unknown suspect entered the residential building and stole a tool before leaving the scene on foot. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY FROM AUTO (Series) (Late), 2024-02030091, 3800 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 8:33 a.m. on February 3, police were dispatched to the late report of a larceny from auto. Upon arrival, it was determined between approximately 10:00 p.m. on February 2 and 8:33 a.m. on February 3, the unknown suspect(s) forced entry into six vehicles by damaging the driver’s side door handle and stole airbags. Tools and electronics were also reported stolen from one of the vehicles. The victim vehicles are Honda models. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
