REPORTS
CARJACKING, 2024-01230101, 2200 block of 2nd Street N. At approximately 11:55 a.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to for the report of a robbery by force. The preliminary investigation indicates the female suspect approached the female victim from behind, grabbed her shoulders and demanded her car keys. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect implied she had a firearm. The suspect then stole the victim’s car keys and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY (late), 2024-01230067, 4900 block of Columbia Pike. At approximately 10:00 a.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, it was determined between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., witnesses observed two male suspects allegedly exit the vacant residence and leave the scene. Officers located signs of forced entry into the unit and while on scene, they observed one of the suspects in the area. The suspect fled from officers and was initially not located. A perimeter was established and an Arlington County Sheriff’s deputy located the suspect inside a residential building in the area and took him into custody without incident. Eduardo Guzman, 25, of Arlington, Va., was arrested and charged with Unlawful Entry. The second suspect was not located and is described as a Hispanic male wearing a grey jacket, blue jeans a and a purple hat. The investigation is ongoing.
BRANDISHING, 2024-01240004, N. Quinn Steet at 18th Street N. At approximately 12:33 a.m. on January 24, police were dispatched to the report of a person with a gun. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was walking in the area when a black SUV pulled up to her and the suspect, who was also the driver of the vehicle, began yelling at her. The suspect then parked the vehicle, exited and approached the victim making threatening statements. The suspect subsequently brandished a firearm at the victim before re-entering the vehicle and attempting to reverse into the victim. The victim was able to move to avoid being struck and the suspect fled the scene. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a thin-build white male, approximately 6’0”-6’1”, in his 40’s with facial hair wearing all dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2024-01230233, 200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 9:36 p.m. on January 23, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, selected a case of alcoholic beverages and left the store without payment when an employee followed him outside and called police. The suspect then threw the beverages at the employee before fleeing the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. A lookout was broadcast and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’7” wearing a black jacket, light-colored sweater, tan pants, tan boots and a black mask. The investigation is ongoing.
