REPORTS
BURGLARY, 2024-05110089, 900 block of N. Madison Street. At approximately 9:51 a.m. on May 11, police were dispatched to the late report of a breaking and entering. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect allegedly entered the victim’s residence during the early morning hours, stole the victim’s wallet and car keys and subsequently stole the victim’s vehicle which was parked in the driveway. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located the vehicle with the suspect inside at 17th Road S. and S. Edgewood Street and took him into custody without incident. Charles Mullen, 53, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Credit Card Theft (x2). He was held without bond.
LARCENY FROM AUTO (Significant), 2024-05130025, 1500 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 3:46 a.m. on May 13, police were dispatched to the report of two suspects tampering with vehicles in the area. A lookout was broadcast and officers canvassing the area located an individual matching the description of one of the suspects and took him into custody. During a search of the suspect incident to arrest, credit cards not belonging to the suspect and a glass braking tool were recovered. Randy Bell, 19, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with Credit Card Theft, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Larceny from Auto and Attempted Larceny from Auto.
ROBBERY, 2024-05110104/2024-05110105/2024-05110138, 3000 block of N. Stafford Street/Lorcom Lane at N. Fillmore Street/Northbound I-395 at the 14th Street Bridge. At approximately 11:42 a.m. on May 11, police were dispatched to a 9-1-1 call. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim parked and was exiting his vehicle when the suspect vehicle pulled up behind his vehicle and three male suspects exited. Two suspects brandished firearms and demanded the victim’s jewelry while the third suspect rummaged through the victim’s vehicle. The suspects subsequently fled the scene in their vehicle, described as a blue sedan, with stolen cash and credit cards. No injuries were reported. While fleeing the area southbound on Lorcom Lane, the suspect vehicle drove on the wrong side of the roadway and struck a bicyclist in the area N. Fillmore Street. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The suspect vehicle then entered northbound I-395 in the area of the 14th Street Bridge during which the suspect vehicle struck an occupied vehicle and fled into Washington, DC. The driver of the struck vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The suspects are described as thin-build Black males in their late teens, approximately 5’6”-5’8” wearing all dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/GRAND LARCENY AUTO (Series)(Late), 2024-05100034/2024-05100045/2024-05100047/2024-05100067, 1800 block of N. Quinn Street/1800 block of N. Quinn Street/21st Street N. at N. Courthouse Road/1200 block of N. Nash Street. At approximately 5:35 a.m. on May 10, police were dispatched to the report of a late larceny. It was determined during overnight hours, the suspect(s) made entry into five vehicles parked in the 1800 block of N. Quinn Street, shattering the windows of two vehicles, rummaged through the interiors and stole electronics, personal identification cards, personal items and an undisclosed amount of cash. Additionally, a vehicle parked at 21st Street N. at N. Courthouse Road had its rear passenger window shattered and the suspect(s) stole a firearm, personal identification cards and credit cards. The suspect(s) also entered and rummaged through a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of N. Nash Street and stole a separate parked vehicle. The stolen vehicle is described as a gray 2011 Subaru Impreza with Virginia tag TRY7710. All victim vehicles varied in make and model. There is no suspect(s) description. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY FROM AUTO/GRAND LARCENY AUTO (Series) (Late), 2024-05130020/2024-05130021/2024-05130024, 1700 block of N. Rhodes Street/1700 block of N. Troy Street/1900 block of N. Rhodes Street. At approximately 3:17 a.m. on May 13, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located three vehicles with their rear driver side windows smashed and the interiors rummaged through. Coins were reported stolen from one of the vehicles, all described as Toyotas. A short time later, officers canvassing the area of the 1700 block of N. Troy Street and 1900 block of N. Rhodes Street located two victim vehicles that were rummaged through and determined a third vehicle was stolen. The stolen vehicle is described as a blue 2015 Hyundai Sonata with Virginia tag TLD9711. There is no suspect description(s). The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 2024-05110241, 27th Street N. at N. Powhatan Street. At approximately 8:51 p.m. on May 11, police were dispatched to the report of a drunk in public. Upon arrival, officers observed a group of juveniles exiting the area. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect(s) forced entry into a vacant residence in the 6100 block of 27th Street N., resulting in property damage to the home. Responding officers conducted a search of the property and no one was located inside. The investigation is ongoing.
