REPORTS

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2024-11050162, 2900 block of Clarendon Boulevard. At approximately 8:51 p.m. on November 5, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was walking in the area when the male suspect allegedly approached him, spit on him and threw a brick at him before fleeing the scene on foot. Medics responded and treated the victim on scene for minor injuries. A responding officer located an individual matching the description of the suspect walking on Clarendon Boulevard and issued commands for him to stop. The suspect disregarded the officer’s commands and began to run from the area. A foot pursuit was initiated and additional responding officers assisted to take the suspect into custody during which he spat on an officer. Joshua Jacobson, 45, of Gainesville, Va. was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Malicious Wounding and Obstruction of Justice. He was held without bond.

CARJACKING, 2024-11030174, 1200 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 10:50 p.m. on November 3, police were dispatched to the report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his parked vehicle when he engaged the male suspect, who was standing outside a building, in conversation. The suspect then approached the victim’s vehicle and forcibly removed the victim from the driver’s seat before entering the vehicle and fleeing the scene. The victim briefly left the scene before returning and being treated by medics from non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a tall Black male wearing all black clothing and the stolen vehicle is described as a white 2013 Acura TL with Virginia license plate 71376HM. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-11050038, 2300 block of 2nd Street S. At approximately 9:46 a.m. on November 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, went behind the counter and began collecting cigarettes. An employee confronted the suspect who subsequently implied a weapon and assaulted the employee before exiting the store and fleeing the scene in a vehicle with the stolen merchandise. Medics responded and treated the employee on scene for minor injuries. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a thin-build Black male, approximately 28-30 years old, 5’3”-5’4” with short black hair wearing all black clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-11050098, Unit block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 4:06 p.m. on November 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery by force. Upon arrival, it was determined at approximately 3:30 p.m., the two suspects entered a business, implied a weapon and stolen an item before leaving the scene on foot. Suspect One is described as a Black male wearing a black puffer jacket, black pants and a black hat. Suspect Two is described as a Hispanic male wearing a black jacket, grey or light blue pants and a black hat. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-11050141, 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 7:22 p.m. on November 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the two male suspects entered the business during which Suspect One went behind the counter and employees confronted him. Suspect One then implied a weapon and made threatening statements towards the employees before he and Suspect Two collected merchandise and exited the store without payment. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects yielding negative results. Suspect One is described as a Black male, approximately 18-21 years old, 6’0”, wearing a black sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black shoes and a black ski mask. Suspect Two is described as a thin-build Black male, 18-21 years old, 5’10” with short dreadlocks wearing a black sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, cream shoes and a black ski mask. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-11050150, 2500 block of 9th Road S. At approximately 7:12 p.m. on November 5, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined the male suspect entered the business, collected merchandise and attempted to exit without payment when he was confronted by an employee. The suspect then brandished a pocketknife, exited the store and fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a heavy-set Black male, approximately 5’8” wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and gray sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 2024-11050135, 4300 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 6:38 p.m. on November 5, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was inside her residence when she heard a noise and the sound of someone inside the home and called police. Responding officers established a perimeter and subsequently searched the residence for the suspect yielding negative results. No items were reported stolen. There is no suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
