REPORTS

SHOTS FIRED, 2024-10160229, S. Glebe Road at Columbia Pike. At approximately 8:04 p.m. on October 16, police were dispatched to the report of a fight. The preliminary investigation indicates the male suspect and male victim became engaged in a physical altercation during which the suspect’s firearm discharged. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported. Officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a light skinned male, wearing a black hoodie and dark colored pants. The investigation is ongoing.

ROBBERY, 2024-10160221, 1400 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 7:29 p.m. on October 16, police were dispatched to the report of a larceny just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male suspect entered the business, concealed merchandise in a backpack and exited the store without payment. When the suspect was confronted by loss prevention personnel, the suspect made threatening statements before fleeing the scene on foot with the stolen merchandise. Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a heavyset Black male in his teens, 6’2”, wearing all black clothing, a red backpack and black flip flops. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY, 2024-10170020, 2700 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 3:36 a.m. on October 17, police were dispatched to the report of a burglary just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the suspect(s) forced entry into the closed business by smashing a glass window and stole merchandise before fleeing the scene. Responding officers established a perimeter and conducted a search of the business and surrounding area for the suspects yielding negative results. There is no suspect(s) description at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
