REPORTS
ELUDING (Significant), 2024-09250088, I-395 at King Street. At approximately 12:17 p.m. on September 25, Metropolitan Police Department notified Arlington County Police of a suspect vehicle entering Arlington associated with a felony investigation in their jurisdiction. An Arlington County Police Officer located the suspect vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-395 and pursued the vehicle. The suspect vehicle exited the highway and subsequently crashed at W. Braddock Road and N. Van Dorn Street in Alexandria. The suspect then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Officers initiated a foot pursuit and took the suspect into custody. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect vehicle had previously been reported stolen and the suspect was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. Antonio Smith, 33, of Washington, DC was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Goods, Eluding and No Driver’s License.
