REPORTS
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 2025-02220050, N. Quincy Street at Fairfax Drive. At approximately 9:25 a.m. on February 22, police were dispatched to the report of a hit and run just occurred. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the driver of the striking vehicle and located her inside a residence in the 1200 block of N. Lincoln Street. As the officers were taking the suspect into custody, she resisted arrest and kicked an officer. The officer sustained minor injuries. It was determined the suspect was also wanted out of a neighboring jurisdiction. Madison Jones, 31, of Arlington, Va was arrested and charged with Assault on Police, Obstruction of Justice, Hit and Run and was served with the outstanding warrant. She was held without bond.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, 2025-02220097, 1000 block of S. Frederick Street. At approximately 3:04 p.m. on February 22, police were dispatched to the report of disorderly conduct. The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect allegedly caused damage inside a residential building and attempted to force entry into a residence. Outside the building, he approached the two victims while exposing himself and caused damage to a vehicle in the parking lot. Responding officers located the suspect outside and attempted to detain him, during which he resisted arrest. With the assistance of additional responding officers, the suspect was taken into custody. Jose Santos Moran, 60, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure, Destruction of Property, Obstruction of Justice, Attempted Burglary and Assault and Battery (x2). He was held without bond.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING (late), 2025-02210169, 6800 block of Langston Boulevard. At approximately 7:59 p.m. on February 21, police were dispatched to the late report of an assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that the female victim and the female suspect were inside a hotel room when the suspect assaulted the victim and stole her phone. The suspect then fled the scene with five male subjects. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical attention. The investigation is ongoing.
MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 2025-02230131, 2500 block of 9th Road S. At approximately 5:14 p.m. on February 23, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. The preliminary investigation indicates the male victim was sitting outside when the male suspect approached and engaged him in conversation during which the suspect allegedly displayed a knife and struck the victim with it, causing a laceration. The suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, officers identified the suspect and obtained warrants for Malicious Wounding and Assault and Battery. The investigation is ongoing.
ROBBERY, 2025-02220103, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:02 p.m. on February 22, a patrol officer observed an assault in progress and intervened. The preliminary investigation indicates the adult male victim was exiting the metro when the three juvenile male suspects assaulted him following a verbal dispute and stole his phone. The victim sustained minor injuries and his phone was recovered. The three suspects were detained on scene during which one suspect resisted arrest. Petitions for the juvenile suspects are pending for offenses including Robbery, Assault by Mob, Conspiracy to Commit Felony and Obstruction of Justice.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY (late), 2025-02210187, 1300 block of Wilson Boulevard. At approximately 10:15 p.m. on February 21, police were dispatched to the late report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, signs of attempted forced entry were located on the door to a closed business. There are no suspect descriptions. The investigation is ongoing.
MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING, 2025-02210148, 5600 block of Fairfax Drive. At approximately 5:26 p.m. on February 21, police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined the male victim was inside his residence when he heard a loud noise and observed a broken window and a rock on the floor. The victim did not report any injuries. The preliminary investigation indicated a group of juveniles were walking in the area when one juvenile threw a rock through the window of the residence before they all fled the scene on foot. The suspect is described as short, wearing a blue hoodie, black pants, white shoes and a black beanie. The investigation is ongoing.
BURGLARY (late), 2025-02190127, 4000 block of Campbell Avenue. At approximately 3:45 p.m. on February 19, police received a late online report for a breaking and entering. It was reported that at approximately 10:00 p.m. on February 13, two male suspects entered the closed business and stole alcohol and food before subsequently fleeing the scene. The suspects are described as Hispanic males with one wearing an orange hoodie, blue jeans and carrying a gray backpack and the other wearing a black coat with a hood and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.
