Maywood Design Guidelines Committee (MGC)
The Maywood Design Guidelines Committee (MGC) will begin the process of re-examining and updating the Maywood Design Guidelines. This effort will be a multi-step collaboration between the Historical Affairs and Landmark Review Board (HALRB), Arlington County Historic Preservation Program (HPP) staff, Maywood Civic Association, and residents of the neighborhood.
Members of the committee will be tasked with:
- Identifying various types of projects that can be shifted from Certificates of Appropriateness (CoAs) with HALRB review/approval to Administrative Certificates of Appropriateness (ACoAs) with HPP staff review/approval;
- Discussing the specific criteria for the review of ACoA projects;
- Providing input and feedback on the ACoA requirements and how best to add the new requirements to the existing Maywood Design Guidelines; and
- Proposing ideas for streamlining and improving the existing ACoA application form.
