Information Technology Advisory (Tech) Commission
Tech Commission Purposes
- Advises the County Board on the following:
- Integrating technology considerations into strategic planning, capital budgeting, and operational control processes
- Aligning technology capabilities with strategic objectives
- Ensuring the County remains resilient to threats in the evolving cybersecurity landscape
- Supporting data privacy
- Making the County a preferred location for information-centric and knowledge-based enterprises
- Assessing and addressing policy gaps around emerging technology
- Addressing barriers to broadband internet connectivity and the opportunities it affords
- Extending access to County data to enable informed decision making
- Educating the public to ensure informed, safe, and effective participation in the Arlington digital community
- Administering cable franchise agreements

Meetings
To review the agendas, minutes, and recordings of past Tech Commission meetings, please visit the Tech Commission Archive. Tech Commission meetings are generally held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bozman Government Center at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington. Commission meetings are open to the public, and the Commission hears public comments relating to Commission issues at the beginning of each meeting. The Tech Commission consists of 13 members appointed for three-year terms. The County Board designates the Commission’s Chair annually in December.
