NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF ARLINGTON CO., VA, on November 5, 2018, in Room 307, 2100 Clarendon Blvd. at 7:00 P.M. or as soon thereafter as matters may be heard, will hold Public Hearings on the following cases; and
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE COUNTY BOARD OF ARLINGTON CO., VA, on November 17, 2018, in Room 307, 2100 Clarendon Blvd. at 9:00 A.M. or as soon thereafter as matters may be heard, will consider the following cases, after offering the public an opportunity to be heard in a public hearing:
NOTE: Copies of proposed plans, ordinances, amendments and applications, and related planning case materials may be examined in the Zoning Office, Suite 1000; or text of proposed County Code amendments in County Board Clerk’s Office, Suite 300; 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA, 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. weekdays. The term Site Plan in this notice refers to Special Exception in County Zoning Ordinance and is not the same as an engineering site plan or construction plans submitted in satisfaction of other codes or ordinances. The terms ACZO and GLUP means Arlington County Zoning Ordinance and General Land Use Plan, respectively.
THE FOLLOWING CASE TO BE HEARD BY PLANNING COMMISSION AND COUNTY BOARD:
U-3175-07-1 Arlington Public Schools for an approximately 112,919 sq. ft. elementary school at the Reed site with a design capacity of approximately 732 students and associated facilities in the S-3A zoning district under ACZO §4.1.2, §4.2, §15.4. Property is approximately 470,448 sq. ft.; located at 1644 N. McKinley Rd. (RPC# 10-022-030). Modifications of zoning ordinance requirements include: parking, building height, and other modifications as necessary to achieve the proposed development plan. Applicable Policies: GLUP Public.
SUBJECT: Adoption of the Four Mile Run Valley (4MRV) Area Plan. The Area Plan establishes the vision for the Four Mile Run Valley study area located along Four Mile Run Drive and between Shirlington Rd, 24th Rd South and Interstate 395, which consists of mostly industrial properties. The Plan includes a Concept Plan and major policy recommendations that are necessary to fulfill the vision, which call for the continuation of industrial and service commercial uses, while also encouraging more arts-related uses. The policy recommendations, which were previously adopted by the County Board as part of the 4MRV Policy Framework in May 2018, reinforce the proposed Land Use/Height/Development Character, Transportation Improvements, Parks /Recreation/Open Space enhancements, and Environmental goals. The Area Plan also includes Design Guidelines that encourage the reuse of buildings and incorporation of infill development, wayfinding and placemaking elements (including public art) that will contribute to making the area distinctive, as envisioned in the Area Plan. Lastly, the Area Plan includes an Implementation Chapter and Matrix, which outlines the major public improvements and planning efforts that will need to occur, over time, to help achieve the vision.
THE FOLLOWING CASES TO BE HEARD BY COUNTY BOARD ONLY:
Ordinance of Vacation to vacate a 10-foot-wide Storm Sewer Easement running diagonally from the northern property line to the eastern property line of the property known as Lot 12-A, Spring Manor, located at 2419 N. Kenmore St., Arlington, Virginia, RPC #04-026-068, with conditions.
Ordinance of Vacation of: (i) a Water & Sanitary Sewer Easement; (ii) a 10’ Storm Sewer Easement; (iii) a Portion of a 12’ Sanitary Sewer Easement; and (iv) Portions of a 20’ Storm Sewer Easement, all on property known as Reed School located at 1644 N. McKinley Rd., Arlington, Virginia (RPC# 10-022-030), with Conditions.
SITE PLAN AMENDMENTS:
