Nauck Civic and Community Pride Day

WHEREAS, the Nauck Civic Association, one of the oldest in Arlington, is celebrating its 89th anniversary as a civic association and 172nd year since it was established in Arlington; and

WHEREAS, the Nauck Civic Association is hosting its annual Civic and Community Pride Day which celebrates the rich heritage and great promise of this community; and

WHEREAS, civic associations play a significant role in fostering harmonious relationships among neighbors and serve as an important link between the community and the Arlington County government; and

WHEREAS, the Nauck Civic Association has fought for quality education in the schools, and for various programs relating to health, housing, neighborhood conservation and others which have enhanced the quality of life for the people of the Nauck community and the Arlington community at-large; and

WHEREAS, neighborhood unity is strongly encouraged throughout Arlington County; and

WHEREAS, residents of the Nauck neighborhood should be recognized for the pride and admiration they feel for their community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Libby Garvey, Chair of the County Board of Arlington, Virginia, do hereby proclaim September 17, 2016, as

NAUCK CIVIC AND COMMUNITY PRIDE DAY

in Arlington and urge all residents to join in congratulating the Nauck Civic Association on 89 years of dedicated and caring service to the Arlington community.
