About Us

CARRT—or the Community Advancing Resilience and Readiness Together—is an agile County-appointed committee focused on building resilience and emergency preparedness in Arlington founded in late 2022. CARRT consists of diverse community stakeholders across all sectors and is modeled after previous successful community efforts.

Mission Statement

To increase resilience and readiness in Arlington County by engaging the whole community, increasing trust in government, and amplifying essential household, business, and community preparedness information.

Goals

Goal #1: Build and Strengthen Community Partnerships: Increase individual, household, and community preparedness and resiliency by building community relationships and partnerships.

Goal #2: Provide Education and Outreach to the Whole Community: Provide the community with education and outreach on emergency preparedness, response, and resiliency.

Goal #3: Ensure Efforts are Fully Accessible and Focus on Historically Excluded, Vulnerable, and Harder-to-Reach Populations: In addition to providing the broad community with education, ensure outreach efforts are fully accessible and focus on those that are historically excluded, are most vulnerable, and are considered harder-to-reach.
