Avoid the Credit Card Surcharge

Credit and debit card payments made through the Arlington County Department of Parks and Recreation registration system include a non-refundable fee of 3% paid directly to the credit card processor. Arlington County does not receive any portion of the fee.

There are two ways to avoid paying the surcharge:

You can avoid the fee by paying with cash or check at these locations:

  • DPR Administrative Services Office, 3700. S Four Mile Run Dr. Mon- Fri: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Arlington Mill Community Center, 909 S. Dinwiddie St. Mon/Wed/Fri: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; Tues: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thurs: 8 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.
  • Madison Community Center, 3829 Stafford St. Mon- Fri: 9 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.

(Please note, our system does not process PIN-based debit card transactions. Debit Cards carrying the Visa or MasterCard logo may be used online, but are processed as credit cards and incur a fee of 3%)

Cancellations and refunds:

The surcharge of 3% is nonrefundable unless the program or reservation is canceled by DPR.

Any “bank” fees incurred as a result of an E-Check, due to insufficient funds or incorrect account information, will not be refunded under any circumstance.
