55+ Registration Date Schedule
Registration will open on the third Tuesday of the month for Arlington County residents and remain on Thursday of the same week for non-county residents - unless noted. 55+ registration will start at 12 p.m. on registration dates.

Registration for fall 55+ programs will open on Tues., Nov. 19 at 12 p.m. for Arlington County residents and Thurs., Nov. 21 at 12 p.m. for non-county residents. Keep active and engaged. There’s always something happening in Arlington for people 55 and older - check out the 55+ Guide.  The digital 55+ Guide is published quarterly and is filled with a variety of activities. Even better? Most of the programs are free if you have a 55+ Pass.

Connect through the digital 55+ Guide: You can link directly to the online registration system.  After registration has opened (see dates above), click on the blue registration number for the program that you are interested in — and a page will open in your Internet browser where you can review the class and register. 


How to Register for 55+ Classes and Programs (including those with fees)

Explore the different program offerings in the 55+ Guide and follow the registration instructions in the description or listing.

Register in Person, by Phone or by Mail for 55+ Classes and Programs (including those with fees):

Arlington County Residents are given priority for program registration; for example, Arlington County residents will register on one day and Out of County residents the following day. Please check in the 55+ Guide, or contact your local 55+ Center, for upcoming registration dates for classes and programs (including those with with fees).

  • In-person by visiting a 55+ Center or Department of Parks and Recreation's Administrative Services Office located at 300 N. Park Drive, 22203 (first floor)
  • By phone by calling 703-228-4747, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • By mail to Department of Parks and Recreation's Administrative Services Office at 300 N. Park Drive, 22203 (include class activity # on the check). Make checks payable to Treasurer, Arlington County

* Returned Check Fee is $50.

 

Register Online for Classes and Programs (including those with fees):

  1. To register online, go to https://registration.arlingtonva.us and sign in (top right corner).
  2. Enter your login ID and password. If this is your first time and don’t know your ID and password, call 703-228-4747. If you don't already have an online account, you can create one by clicking "create account" and following the steps or call 703-228-4747 if you need further assistance. 
  3. Once logged in, click on “55+ Classes and Trips” (select correct guide range) you want to sign up for. If you know the Activity and Section code, you can enroll instantly by clicking on Quick Enroll to sign up (or click here).
  4. You can select by Category by clicking on the picture associated with the desired category in order to see an expanded listing of program, class, and/or trip offerings for that category. If desired, enter certain Search filters (on left side) to narrow the results - by type, age, location, days of the week, start time, month, or activity number. Note: Don't forget to select the blue "Search" button to launch the search, and the "Reset" button to start a new search.
  5. Find the program, class, and/or trip you are interested in and select the checkbox next to it to add to your selection list. The one you select will be shown in a bar at the bottom of the page called "Selected Items". If you no longer want this item, then click the "Clear Selection" button to remove from your online shopping cart. If not, then click the "Add to Cart" button to continue and on the next screen you will select the name(s) of the person (in your household) who you are registering and click the "Continue" button.
  6. A page will display showing all items in your online shopping cart and the total cost. At this point you can "Proceed to Checkout" (see instructions below), or you can select "Continue Shopping" if you have more items to register for and then repeat the same process until you are ready to proceed to checkout.
  7. Pay by e-check or credit card for online registration. A 3% fee is charged by our credit card processor. You MUST checkout even if you owe nothing (this includes free classes as well as waitlist registrations).

Note: Customers using a debit or credit card pay a fee of up to 3% to our credit card processor. Arlington County does not receive any portion of this fee. Looking for an alternative way to pay? Learn how to pay by eCheck, in-person or by mail.

INTERNATIONAL REGISTRATIONS For security reasons, our registration system does not allow for connections outside the United States. If you know you will be traveling internationally during our registration period and would like to register for a class or two, please contact the Administrative Services Office (703-228-4747) in advance.


How to Register for 55+ Trips

Cancellations

To cancel your reservation in a program, activity, and/or a fee-based class you have registered for, please call 703-228-4747.  

Refund Policy for Classes with Fees

Refunds must be requested through Department of Parks and Recreation's Administrative Services Office at 703-228-4747 – or to request further details about the policy.

Full refunds for 55+ classes are made automatically when classes are canceled by 55+ Programs due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen reasons, or upon request when schedule or location changes made by 55+ Programs prohibit or limit attendance. Refunds for medical reasons must be accompanied by a physician’s note and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Drop-Ins & Registration

Drop-in classes are ongoing programs that participants can join anytime with a valid 55+ Pass. Any program listed as a drop-in does not require pre-registration. All programs have a capacity limit and may fill up. Unless designated as drop-in, all programs require pre-registration. Registration automatically closes two business days prior to the start of the program. For questions, contact the Administrative Services Office at 703-228-4747.
