Arlington County Government offices and services are operating on modified schedules for the Christmas holiday, Tue., Dec. 24, and Wed., Dec. 25, 2024.
Within the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office, a dedicated team of leaders ensures comprehensive training for all employees, covering every facet of their roles. In 2023, 21 Deputies successfully graduated from the Academy, a rigorous six-month program held at Virginia's largest regional law enforcement training facility. This program ensures that every full-time law enforcement officer meets mandatory minimum training standards. The curriculum, consisting of 936 hours for deputy sheriffs and 776 hours for police officers, acquaints new officers and deputies with the varied challenges encountered in law enforcement.
