Arlington Artspace

Arlington Artspace is a proposed affordable artist live/work housing, studios and other creative work spaces for artists and creatives within a 50-mile radius of Arlington currently being advanced by Arlington Cultural Affairs and Artspace, a national nonprofit in the nation’s leading arts-based nonprofit that helps create affordable live/work spaces for creatives across the Country.

Arlington Artspace Reports 

In February 2017, Artspace visited Arlington and a series of community meetings were held to elicit feedback and gauge interest in a mixed-use arts facility. The response was positive and the result was the Arlington Artspace Feasibility Study that identified four neighborhoods in Arlington where a live/work space could be created: Vrginia Square, Shirlington/Four Mile Run, Columbia Pike, and Crystal City.

The next critical step was the Arlington Artspace survey conducted Spring 2018 that will determine if there is enough demand to warrant new space and if so, the nature of that space (type, amenities, features, size and affordability). Resulting data can help attract funders and partners, and give Arlington Cultural Affairs, Artspace and private developers information critical to advancing new space.
